small metals

My finished pin! Made out of copper and brown patina.
The assignment was to make a pin/brooch based on a random word we choose out of a dictionary, and i got carbonization, ahaha. so i decided to have the focus of my piece be on fossils, specifically trilobites, and their accumulation (eventually, through carbonization, they turn into fossil fuels).

little things

I made this box thing using the laser-cutter in my multiples class. it is a really cool machine. Also, i got the skull and vertebrate because i missed drawing bones so much!

Just a little doodle thing
This is what I am working on in my next sculpture class- small metals. its going to be a pin (hopefully!) Right now it is just an etching but i will saw it out, finish the copper with a patina and add the appropriate pin parts.

A few sketchbook pages. Mostly used now for planning future projects. The last one I used as a guide when having to draft the welding room for my multiples class.

EMS video

So, i haven't been able to upload my EMS video because the file is too big:( but i finally figured out how to capture some screen shots!
The video compiles appropriated imagery of tornadoes, and follows the coming and going of the storm. I added audio to the piece but it wasn't as successful as the visuals. Anywho, these are the pics!

Update on 2D

Update on 2D project. Will finish soon after spring break:)
still has a lot of work:( I was really close to pulling an all-nighter on this guy...

Tack

So this was my multiples project! woo! (yes, i know i only made one, but that's okay. this sucker is BIG).
This guy is made out of plastic and steel.
To make this mold, i had to make an original out of foam board and joint compound. then i made the orange rubber part, and finally the hard outside "mother mold"
although i was only able to make one for the class, having the mold gives me the option to make more...except i don't have it anymore:(((((((((((((((((( to make a long story short, i tried to make one out of clear resin, it didn't work, then had to stupid idea of taking it out with my hands and had to go the the hospital to get it off. i am completely fine, and definitely won't be doing that again. sad part is, when the police arrived when i first called in from the art building, they took the mold with the resin to test it in case something bad happened, and i don't know what became of it:((((
Lesson learned
