Communication design fundamentals

Another studio class that I am taking is Communication Design fundamentals, which is a design studio, NOT and art studio.  very different approach, a lot of very basic Gestalt rules and such.  I am required to have a blog for that class where I write about my design process, the work is not very exciting but if you want to check it out http://lruoff.wordpress.com/

Color Theory

One of the studios I am taking this semester is a color theory class.  For the past few weeks we have just been doing little studies, and here they are pinned up on my studio wall.

Studio

An advantage of being an upperclassman is that we get our own working space (studio) at the beginning of the semester.  Here is a rather blurry image of my very own studio! The light is really nice because the ceiling is all windows (when it is actually sunny in Pittsburgh). I actually have not worked here much this semester because I have been in the print studio and small metals studio, which are in a different building.  But it is still really nice to have :)

etched plastic sheet, red paint, in custom plywood frames (cut using CNC)

All of these are on white paper and the lines are etched in digitally with a laser cutter.
